M4TR is an indie band in Washington D.C. that exists for one purpose only - to restore sanity to America through "revolution rock."
M4TR fuses tongue-in-cheek lyrical commentary on the state of the nation with a fusion of high-energy funk, punk, disco, gospel, soul, grunge and piano pop.
songwriter Abujibran (AJ) recruited buddies he had played with for small charity gigs and M4TR was born in the crucible of the resistance.
AJ (Keys/Vocals), Bob (Guitars/Vocals), Blake (Bass/Vocals) and Bruce (Drums/Vocals) recorded their debut album - ROCK TO RESIST BY - in November 2018.
The album was engineered by Dave Mallen at Innovation Station Music - Wammie award winner for best studio in D.C. They supported the release with a small local tour at some of D.C.'s best venues including Jammin' Java, Songbyrd Music Cafe, Rock and Roll Hotel and DC Pieshop.
M4TR influences include too many artists to mention. Stevie Wonder, Queen, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine, The Who, Peter Gabriel, The Police, Paul McCartney, U2, The Smiths, Cake, Beck, Ben Folds, Elton John, Muse, Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, Arcade Fire, The Kooks, The Killers, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Flight of the Conchords... to name only a few.
Follow them on spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and then follow them around D.C. as they belt out original songs and covers at popular houses of music or perhaps busking at a rally near you...
