ABOUT M4TR
M4TR - Music 4 The Revolution - brings you apocalyptic dance music from the Retrofuture - what tomorrow sounds like from the past. They hail from an alternative present where new wave, synthpop, disco, punk, funk, soul, reggae, ska and rap live on eternally. Touring throughout the multiverse to bring musical utopia to those in social dystopia, M4TR plays happy-sad songs about evolution, revolution, devolution, Armageddon, activism, narcissism, madness, technology, trolls, billionaires, monkeys, fish, mermaids, nature, earth, futbol, ghosts, stalkers, trains, death and, above all, love.
M4TR is AJ Solaris (songwriter/vox/synths/acoustic guitar/studio engineer), Laura Cosmosa (vox), Mark Galaxian (vox/guitars), Technovator (bass/live engineer) and Metronomicon (Drums). Their second home in the multiverse is the greater Washington DC area, where they have played Jammin Java, The Renegade, Pearl Street Warehouse, Public Bar Live, The Pocket, The Runaway, Songbyrd Cafe, DC Pieshop, Adams Morgan Porchfest, Crossroads Music Fest, the Launch Music Festival and more. M4TR has tallied 1.3M+ streams on Spotify to date.
The band released its No Tomorrow EP in May 2023 which was shortlisted as a Wammie Award Finalist for Best Electronic Album. The band is working on the back half of M4TR’s third album Love Is The Revolution and a live concert album - M4TR LIVE. THE RETROFUTURE
M4TR hails from the Retrofuture - a visionary world on an alternative timeline where the harmony of humanity thrives thanks to the coexistence of technology, ecology, and human civility. The Retrofuture split off your timeline in 1982 - when new wave, MTV, personal computing, video games, Cold War tensions, and most likely Blade Runner ripped a hole in the space-time continuum. In the Retrofuture, we've experienced different events, world leaders, global conflicts, and cultural moments than you have. Many things are different, a lot the same... but the music is just way better. The Retrofuture is a place where technology, ecology, and humanity blend seamlessly, where every innovation is in tune with the planet's heartbeat.
M4TR is one of the most popular bands on Earth in the Retrofuture, with millions of fans and several world tours, because their music is a universal language of unity and revolution. Yet, in your timeline, they are little known... at least yet. Receiving transmissions and traveling through time isn't easy. Any time the lonely and isolated need solace, no matter the timeline, M4TR travels through time to share their music with the masses. Music for those in pain and despair so they can catch a glimpse of a more hopeful tomorrow through motion and emotion. Love Is The Revolution.
